Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned he thinks former President Trump’s feedback about fixing the struggle in Ukraine are “election messages.”
In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Zelensky was requested what he makes of Trump’s declare that if he had been president, he would remedy the Russia-Ukraine struggle in 24 hours.
“I can’t perceive in the present day, as a result of I don’t know the main points of what he means and what does it imply,” Zelensky replied. “So, my place [is] that [it is a] election interval, and the election messages are election messages.”
Zelensky mentioned he thinks that generally Trump’s election messages are “not very actual.”
The Ukrainian president and Trump have exchanged in a back-and-forth publicly about Trump’s feedback.
The previous president mentioned in March 2023 that, if he wins in November, he would “solve” the war in someday by working with Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump has touted his relationship with Putin as an avenue to finish the struggle, although Putin recently joked he favors Trump’s opponent, Vice President Harris, to win.
Zelensky says he has a plan for Ukraine to win the struggle and rebuild after it ends, which he plans to share with President Biden, in addition to Harris and Trump.
“It might sound too formidable for some, nevertheless it is a crucial plan for us,” he said last month.
Zelensky instructed Zakaria that he had a “good dialog” with Trump over the telephone about two months in the past.
“He will probably be very supportive,” Zelensky mentioned. “He understands the way it’s tough to outlive through the struggle and he’ll do the whole lot to strengthen Ukraine.”
Throughout his debate with Harris earlier this month, Trump repeatedly declined to say that he needed Ukraine to win the struggle in opposition to Russia.
